The Honorable Donald J. Trump
President-Elect of the United States of America

We at the Coalition of Palestinian American Organizations extend our sincere congratulations on your election was the 45th President of the United States of America. Recognizing that you are an accomplished leader from the private sector- not a career politician, and believing that you do not ow any pledges to any lobby or special interest group, many Palestinian Americans and allies supported and voted for you in the presidential election.

To your credit, during the presidential campaign, you boldly stated, “if I am elected president, I would be “neutral” on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict’. Your brave neutral/non- biased position won the hearts and minds of the great majority of the American people of all races, ethnicities, faiths. especially among the youth, including Jews, Christians, and Muslims, as well as people throughout the world. ¬†We advocate for and support and will be instrumental in a U.S. role that is honest, fair, and unbiased in enabling a win-win solution to the Palestinian/Israeli conflict. The Palestinian people particularly have been experiencing a great tragedy for decades, mainly due to the U.S.’s State Department, it is clearly evident that the United States gives Israel more foreign aid than all the countries of sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean combined. Since its founding in 1948 until March 2013, adjusting for inflation, the U.S. direct aid to Israel surpassed $233.7 billion and is growing exponentially.

We affirm our exclusive identity and challenges as Palestinian Americans with out own concerns and interests, which are in full alignment with the U.S.’s national and strategic interests, and deeply rooted in the U.S’s values for freedom, human rights and democracy and free market economy. The Coalition of Palestinian American Organizations was founded to be the unified and legitimate voice of the Palestinian American Community.

Now, it is more significant that ever to build unbreakable bonds and strong relations between the United States and Palestine and to chart a new course that would make U.S. citizens and the peoples of Israel/Palestine and the world more secure and more prosperous. It is with a sense of distinct importance that the Executive Committee of CPAO kindly requests a meeting with you and your staff to discuss concrete and constructive ways on how we can assist the administration in building stronger political, social and economic ties with Palestine. We look forward to hearing from you and to meeting with you soon.

Very truly yours,

Executive Committee
The Coalition of Palestinian American Organizations
